Get Inspired by Celebrity Looks from Cannes

Get some new inspiration! It doesn’t matter what special event you’re attending – a red-carpet look will be perfect for a theatre premiere, a wedding, or a romantic dinner with your partner. We have two looks for you – a natural one and a more dramatic one for the evening.

Cannes Makeup

A Goddess of Romance like Eva Longoria

This American actress knows very well how to dazzle on the red carpet. Her makeup in hues of pink flatters her complexion perfectly – but remember, if you’re trying to recreate it, start with the eyes instead of the base. That way your intensely pigmented eye products won’t ruin your foundation.

Use shades of pink on your eyelid, starting with the darkest colour along your upper and lower lash line. Add an intense black eyeliner for more definition and a few coats of volumizing mascara for more drama. And don’t forget to fill in and shape your eyebrows to draw more attention to your eyes.

Before you start putting on foundation, remove any fallout under your eyes with a wet wipe. Use a foundation all over your face and set it with powder to make it last. Then use a blusher in a rosy peach colour and lots of highlighters.

The lips are pretty subdued, but they should be pink as well. Apply a matte opaque shade and top it with a layer of clear lip gloss.

Movie star make up

A Natural Beauty like Louise Bourgoin

The French star has decided to go with a charming natural look which accentuates her features. If you’d like to recreate it at home, start by evening out your skin tone with a light long-lasting foundation that won’t feel heavy on your skin. Skip the blusher this time and use only bronzer, adding some of it to your eyelids as well as your cheeks.

Since you’re not using any regular eyeshadow, focus on your lashes and your eyebrows. Brush through the lashes while curling them upwards in the process.

Your lips should stay natural as well. A subtle rosy shade with delicate shimmer will make your look even more romantic and put together.

Our tip: Before you start putting on your makeup, get your skin ready with the right products. It’s especially important when you’re creating a natural look. The key to a smooth and even complexion lies in the products: exfoliator, mask, and moisturiser. Use one of the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay masks the night before the event, or combine several of them according to your needs. Exfoliate your face about an hour before putting on makeup with the Smooth Sugars Scrub which removes blackheads, and then hydrate your skin with the Revitalift Laser X3 intense moisturiser, both by L'Oréal Paris.
