Getting Ready For The Big Day? Beauty Tips For The Bridegroom

June 1, 2022Veronika K.
Most brides dream up their dress, bridal makeup and skincare routine about a day after their engagement. Bridegrooms probably go about it a little differently! But the wedding day is about both of you, and I bet the bride is not the only one who wants to look great in the wedding photos. They will stay with you for the rest of your life! So, gents, pay close attention.

Pre-wedding skincare

So that you’re not trying to rescue the situation at the last minute – which there’s probably no point in doing anyway – it’s a good idea to start with treatments before the big day. I recommend putting the focus on brightening up your skin, hydration and, if necessary, effective anti-wrinkle treatment.

The Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate serum delivers super hydration and nourishment. Its advantage is that it suits every skin type and can be applied both in the morning and evening. Use it really regularly, and in a couple of months you’ll see your skin looking brighter, hydrated and, basically, just happy!

Since Shiseido is a great skincare brand, I’m going to stick with it for a while longer. Try the Men Total Revitalizer Eye lifting cream, to get rid of the circles and bags under your eyes and even a few fine lines. The cream promotes the production of hyaluronic acid, which is just what you need.

TIP: If the stag party drags on, save your tired eye area with the cooling Biotherm Homme Aquapower Eye De-Puffer. If you put it in the fridge for a while, you’ll also find the cooling effect to be a total blast.

A beard like you’ve just left the barber’s

Beard care should be done as a matter of course. So take some Proraso Wood and Spice oil and massage it into your skin. It softens your beard nicely and gives it a natural shine.

If you prefer a smooth face, be careful not to irritate your skin just before the wedding. That’s why I think Biotherm Homme shaving foam is great for sensitive skin. It soothes rather than irritates the skin when shaving. It also ensures you don’t have to deal with redness.

After shaving, apply the Vichy Homme Sensi-Baume – a balm that soothes the skin even more and helps regenerate it thanks to the shea butter content.

Are you ready for the wedding day?

Tell me – have you chosen your fragrance? Do you know what you’re doing with your hair? Don’t worry, I have some tips for you for this too.

Start simple, by choosing a high-quality deodorant. Unlike the bride, you can't wear a strapless dress; instead you’ll be wearing several layers of clothing, which is quite the challenge in the summer. I would put my trust in the Biotherm Homme 48h Day Control. I wouldn’t expect it to last 48 hours in the summer, but thanks to the high-quality ingredients, you really can rely on it for a long time.

Be sure to choose a wedding cologne that makes you feel good – the bride will be happy to advise which one smells best on you. I have two favourite men’s fragrances at the moment. The Paco Rabanne 1 Million Elixir is an aromatic perfume, but it’s not intrusive. It’s a pleasant combination of apple, vanilla and cedar that I never cease to enjoy.

My other favourite is the Versace Eros – a woody perfume which carries the scent of mint and citrus bark. I think it’s a great combination. Plus, this fragrance is named after Eros, the god of love, so the choice is obvious.

What about a final touch-up? For a bit of casual elegance, rub a small amount of the Beviro Matt Paste Medium Hold in your hands for your hair, to keep the natural style in place. It also makes sure you won’t have any messy strands flying around.

And that’s that! It only takes a couple of little things to make you feel better than ever on your big day. So go for it!
