Do you look after your skin, body and mind by following social media trends? Of course! But have you ever thought about the moon being in charge of your beauty rituals? The full moon is perfect for this. Let’s find out how to use its energy for a more beautiful you.

Beauty to the Moon and Back

If you’re telling yourself right now that you’re not “magically” attuned enough to the universe to handle a normal day, then hold on a moment. There is no denying the power of the moon – we can see it with our own eyes, for instance at high tide. And it may affect you even more; you just haven’t thought about it until now. “The moon affects us with its gravity and cycles and influences not just our body, but our emotions and behaviour too,” says Dagmar Borešová, creator of the Lunarium app.

Adapt Your Self-care to the Moon Cycle

We can ideally plan a whole range of activities, whether a skincare routine or meal planning, according to the phases of the moon, to get better results. “In the waxing moon and full moon phase, the body absorbs nutrients and beneficial substances much better than in the waning phase. On the contrary, the latter is good for cleansing the body, as we get rid of waste substances,” says Dagmar Borešová.

Skincare Directed by the Moon

Of all the phases of the moon, it is the full moon that fascinates us the most. Partly because we can see it in all its splendour, thanks to the sun’s rays that illuminate its entire hemisphere facing the Earth, but also because of its energy. It is at its strongest when there is a full moon.

“The skin absorbs face creams and ointments perfectly when there is a full moon and their effect is much more pronounced than on other days,” explains Dagmar Borešová. She says that this is the perfect time for an extra-nourishing face mask, and you can reach for facial oils and food supplements

A Full Moon Manifestation Ritual

If you find yourself unable to wind down at night, or if you’re feeling low for no reason, take a look at the sky – the full moon might just have something to do with it. “The full moon is the peak phase of the moon and its influence on our emotions is strong,” confirms Dagmar Borešová, adding: “We may feel irritable, anxious or depressed, and some people often feel a huge surge of energy and have trouble sleeping when there’s a full moon.”

Sleep Better – And Not Just with a Full Moon

How should you deal with it all and put your mind at ease? Announce at home that you’re taking some time for yourself, and have a bath with aromatic essential oils or bath salts. When there’s a full moon you should feel the energy of the water the most, allowing those negative emotions to float away comfortably. Or try meditation and (this time, really!) doing nothing at all.

My personal full moon tip is the manifestation ritual,” says our expert, who gives the following instructions: “I light a candle, tap into the energy of the moon and visualise what I want. Because when there’s a full moon your wishes come true.” You’ve got to try it!

The Rules of the Universe

Hmm, it seems as if the full moon has a lot to offer! But there are also some things you are better off not doing when there’s a full moon. The universe advises us to leave new beginnings, whether in relationships or business, until another phase of the moon. Also, try to banish all negative thoughts and feelings from your mind – the full moon would only intensify them. And now for the most important thing: don’t hurry things. Each of your rituals needs time and calmness. So find a place where it’s just you, enjoy the silence, and feel the flow of your thoughts and uncharted energy.

Get Comfortable with the Full Moon
