The gorgeous, silky matt texture of this lipstick absolutely blew me away. It feels like nothing on your lips, while being beautifully pigmented. Those who don’t like touching up their lipstick during the day will enjoy it the most, as it’s truly long-lasting.
For the beginning of autumn, I chose to go with the NARS Powermatte Lipstick in the sweet disposition shade, which has a lavender undertone that enhances the remnants of your summer tan beautifully. I also view it as my last chance to bring out a cooler shade and to say goodbye to summer with grace.
When MAC Cosmetics came out with an updated version of their iconic lipsticks this year, I admit I was a little worried. Because why fix something that isn’t broken? But in this case, the product really benefited from the tweaks. The MACximal lipsticks are even creamier and more nourishing, are wonderfully pigmented and envelop the lips beautifully. The product is also a few grams heavier than before (for the same price!).
So for autumn, we have MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick in the Marrakesh shade, which is a beautiful and warm cinnamon brown. As the name suggests, its colour is inspired by spices and red Moroccan clay,and is ideal for both day and evening wear. It envelops you in comfort like a cashmere scarf, and it smells like vanilla marshmallows melted in hot chocolate. Autumnal perfection!
And I’ve saved the best for last: the iconic The Slim by Yves Saint Laurent, with its unique square tip, has been my objet de désir for the longest time. Everything about it is perfect, from the packaging to its pigment-rich formula, texture and scent. But what impressed me the most was how comfortable it is to wear. It sits on the lips like a nourishing balm, it doesn’t settle into fine lines and its coverage after just a single application is absolutely breathtaking.
