Tutorial: Unconventional and Radiant Valentine’s Day Halo Makeup

The halo is an effect you conjure up on your eyelids in a slightly different style from traditional eyeshadow. Instead of doing it the classic way, with the lightest eyeshadow in the inner corner and the darkest eyeshadow in the outer corner, you apply the dark eyeshadow to the inner and outer corners and the lightest shadow to the centre of the eyelid. It lights your eyes up beautifully, and also gives you a truly dramatic look. So how do you do it?

How to do Valentine’s Day halo makeup:

• Even out your complexion with the Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Foundation, which covers all your skin’s imperfections yet remains very natural-looking. If you need to, set your face with a powder. 
• Smile at yourself in the mirror and apply the Clinique Blushing Blush™ Powder Blush blusher to the raised areas of your cheeks.
• Use the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzer to highlight the raised points of the face – the cheekbones, the edge of the nose and the Cupid’s bow. 
• For the eyes, take the MAC Cosmetics Connect In Colour Eye Shadow Palette 6 shades, in the shade rose lens, and darken the inner and outer corners of the eye with the darkest shade, strong connection. For shading, use the shade grain. Dab the shade pink.net into the centre of the lid with your finger. This creates the halo effect over the iris.

• Spray the MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix+ setting spray lightly onto a small brush, and using the in living pink shade from the MAC palette, highlight the inner corner. Underline the lower lid with the pink shade cute on mute.
• Frame the upper lashes with the Lancôme Lash Idôle Liner black eyeliner. Sweep it outwards towards the eyebrows and the temple. Then coat your lashes with several coats of the Lancôme Hypnôse mascara.
• Paint your lips with the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in the shade rouge eros. You can use a lip brush for a good dose of colour, or dab it on with your finger for a subtle effect.
