Composition of the fragrance:
Jardins de Bagatelle Eau de Toilette for women is an airy, clean and sparkling fragrance, perfect for any woman with a romantic soul. The heart of its composition includes neroli, jasmine and gardenia, while the base contains the aphrodisiac note of tuberose, underscored by woody notes.
Story of the fragrance
The Count of Artois accepted the challenge of queen Marie-Antoinette to build a chateau in the Boulogne Wood in less than 64 days. Part of the plan were exquisite gardens – the most romantic place you could possibly imagine. These gardens later inspired Jean-Paul Guerlain to create Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle, a perfect fragrance for a woman in love.
This Eau de Toilette is dominated by tuberose with its aphrodisiac effects. It is exactly for this reason that king Louis XVI had his chateau filled with the aroma of tuberose in order to find and expel all pregnant women who – as it was believed at the time – would find the intense scent too strong, and faint.
