Are you worried that you're going to remove your shoes somewhere and get wrinkled up noses and horrified looks? No matter what you do, your feet perspire and stink? Believe me, you're not alone. The unpleasant odour of sweaty feet has been with women and men across generations. Try some effective shoe and foot sprays!
A reliable antibacterial shoe spray is a powerful and mighty fighter that can handle odour. It doesn't mask bad smells, it breaks down and destroys the molecules that cause them.
A disinfectant shoe spray with nanosilver or colloidal silver works wonders, destroying hostile bacteria but leaving others alone. A pleasant and fragrant plume with staying power is just the proverbial icing on the cake.
Some shoe sprays have equally fragrant counterparts that can be applied directly to your feet, so you can multiply the protection against unpleasant odours. These are so-called 2-in-1 sprays and can be applied to both the feet and in the shoes.
There are also specialised products such as anti-mould or anti-fungal shoe sprays. And beware, that's not all! Most of the shoe deodorisers offer an added bonus - they refresh, cool and keep your feet smelling fresh for hours.
Better than fighting the effects it is better to bet on prevention. Therefore, use a shoe deodorant before putting on your shoes to prevent odours from forming instead of eliminating them. Spray your shoes thoroughly, and let the deodorant dry thoroughly before putting them on. The same goes for foot spray - the skin must dry well after application.
Take your shoes off whenever possible, change your shoes at work and air them out properly when you get home.
There are several factors and their combinations. It definitely depends on how you care for your footwear, how many layers of material it's composed of, what the weather is like outside, and of course whether you're prone to perspiring.
It's clear that your feet will perspire more quickly in boots insulated with faux fur or synthetic socks. In the heat and humidity, unwanted micro-organisms multiply quickly. So, make sure you wear good quality shoes and socks that are made from natural and breathable materials. Your feet will smell better immediately!
Frequent shoe washing is not ideal. Some materials do not mix well with water, and the high speed of the washing machine deforms the shoes and makes it difficult to return them to their original shape. The shoes tend to come apart, the colour washes out and the metal details rust. If not dried sufficiently, shoes become a breeding ground for bacteria and mould, making both the shoes and feet smell bad.
Even slightly damp shoes should always be 100% dry. If you can, expose them to fresh air and sunlight, as UV light is great for dealing with microorganisms. Drying out will be accelerated if you stuff the boots with newspaper, which will wick away any excess moisture and help keep the shoes in shape. While a hairdryer or heating will speed up drying, it will also permanently damage and deform the material.
Once your shoes are dry and clean, it's the perfect time to use a shoe odour spray.
