A perfume extract (Extrait de Parfum) is a type of fragrance that contains the highest concentration of fragrant ingredients: usually 15 to 30%. And its fragrance can often last for up to 24 hours. Although we generally use the word perfume to refer to all fragrances, it is the perfume extracts that are the truly genuine perfumes.

Types of fragrance by concentration

• Perfume extract: contains the highest concentration of fragrant ingredients and the fragrance lasts all day.
• Eau de Parfum: contains 8-15% fragrant ingredients and lasts about 8 hours.
• Eau de Toilette: contains 4-8% fragrant ingredients and lasts about 4 hours.
• Eau de Cologne: contains 3-5% fragrant ingredients and lasts about 2 hours.
• Eau Fraîche: contains 1-3% fragrant ingredients and lasts about 1 hour.
