School is almost here again! Practise these simple hairstyles that will only take a few minutes out of your morning. They look great, last all day and can even handle gym class. Let’s get down to it!

If you have a little schoolgirl at home, start practising these cool hairstyles for school that are easy to do even on a busy morning. We’ve picked out 3 different ones – a hairband made of braids, tangled ponytails and a playful bun. All of them are ideal for little girls with long or medium-length hair. You don’t need any special equipment, just basic hair accessories, a comb and some hairspray for the final styling touches.

How to: Braided Headband

1.     Detangle the hair using a paddle brush or comb.

2.     Secure the front section of the hair (i.e. from the ears to the face) with a hairclip on both sides so that it doesn’t get in the way.

3.     Section out a strand from the lower portion of the hair just behind the ear and braid it into a regular braid. Secure it at the end with a thin hair tie. Do the same on the other side.

4.     Fold the braid from the left-hand side to the right-hand side and fasten it firmly behind the ear with a bobby pin. Do the same with the braid on the other side.

5.     As a final touch, set everything in place with hairspray and a simple hairstyle for school is ready.

How to: Tangled Ponytails for School

1.     Make a centre parting and detangle the hair thoroughly.

2.     Make a half-up ponytail on each side – from the top section of the hair. Leave the lower section of the hair down. Secure each ponytail with a hairband and hairspray.

3.     Take one half-up ponytail and split it into 2 sections. Twist each strand separately and then twist them around one another as well. Do the same on the other side.

4.     Secure the ends with a hairband and dust them lightly with hairspray.

How to: Playful Bun for School

1.     Make a centre parting and leave a loose, thin strand of hair on each side, framing the face.

2.     Section out a thicker strand of hair above each loose strand, twist it and secure it with a hairclip.

3.     Brush the remaining hair into a high ponytail and secure it with a hairband.

4.     Now loosen the 2 thicker strands you secured earlier, comb them through and use a bobby pin to attach them next to the ponytail.

5.     Take the ponytail and secured strands, separate them into sections and twist them around one another.

6.     Twist the entangled ponytail around the hairband to form a bun. Secure it in place with bobby pins.
