Although humans can survive without food for several weeks, they won’t last more than three days without water. Simply put, water is extremely important for the human body, yet we often underestimate the importance of drinking. Come and learn how to hydrate properly, be greener and still save money. And choose the best water bottle to make it all easier.
Everyone’s heard that staying hydrated is important. But why? Water makes up around 60% of our bodies – that means a person who weighs 70 kg has 40-50 litres of water in their body. It is part of every human cell, the respiratory system, musculoskeletal system and digestive system, and it is the environment for all metabolic processes... If you don’t drink enough, it can result in bad skin, poor digestion, increased fatigue, reduced sports performance and slower weight loss.
If you have your own water bottle to carry with you everywhere, it’s easier to stay hydrated. The most common types of bottles for drinks:
Tip: The Notino bottle made of borosilicate glass is suitable for hot and cold drinks. And with the silicone cover, it can withstand any fall.
You can find all the bottles in different volume sizes – would you like a 1 litre water bottle? Or would you prefer a 500-ml bottle?
Have you heard of smart bottles? It’s a modern-day convenience where your bottle is connected to your phone via Bluetooth and your phone notifies you when it thinks you should drink. And you’ll never forget your bottle again – thanks to your mobile phone, you’ll always know where it is. The smart bottle is also definitely one of the healthiest water bottles, as it’s usually made of eco-friendly materials.
Whichever you choose, all of them are a healthier choice for you and the planet than single-use plastics.
Shaker bottles aren’t just for protein. You can also use a shaker for the perfect mixing of pre-workout stimulants and creatine. What types of shakers are available?
To prep protein or other sports drinks, for example at the gym or for outdoor training, you can use a practical shaker with storage. You can put protein, tablets or other sports supplements in the storage compartment, which you can easily screw to the bottom of the shaker, ready for quick use at any time of day.
Ideally, you should drink around 30-45 ml per kg of weight per day (i.e. a 70-kg person needs 2.1-3.2 litres); in summer and after longer workouts (in short, when we sweat more), don’t be afraid to add more.
Fluids should be supplied continuously throughout the day, not just when you’re thirsty. Feeling thirsty only happens when we are already slightly dehydrated. So, in general, we want to avoid that.
Tip: If you forget to drink but don’t want to invest in a smart bottle, get a water bottle with a straw. As unbelievable as it may seem, the straw will make you reach for the bottle a lot more often!
Pure water should be the main component of what you drink. But you can certainly make your fluid intake more pleasant with:
Try drinking more water for a week and see how much your life improves. You won’t want to change it – especially when that designer water bottle is calling to you from the table.
