Lacoste is a symbol of casual elegance, both in the world of fashion and in the realm of perfumes. Founded in 1933 by the renowned tennis player René Lacoste, the brand initially focused exclusively on producing sportswear. The French champion wanted to feel comfortable during play while still maintaining a gentlemanly demeanor. Relaxation, simplicity, and natural elegance are still reflected in both Lacoste's fashion lines and fragrances today.
René Lacoste not only gave his name to the brand but also its famous symbol—the green crocodile. This was inspired by the nickname "The Alligator," which he received from American journalists after his Davis Cup captain promised to buy him a crocodile-skin suitcase if he won a match.
The first Lacoste perfume was introduced in 1984, followed by numerous lines of fragrances for both men and women, many of which were inspired by various sports. For several decades, Lacoste men's and women's perfumes have symbolised relaxed elegance, making Lacoste one of the most renowned fashion brands of today.
